    Mov-IT

by Valeria Elia Mar 23, 2026

International mobility advisor for VET students with disabilities

Supporting inclusive international mobility in Vocational Education and Training through practical tools, professional profiles and cooperation between VET providers, SMEs and mobility experts.

MOV-it develops concrete procedures and a professional competence profile to make international mobility accessible, safe and feasible for students with disabilities.

    CONSORTIUM

MOV-it is implemented by organisations representing complementary expertise:

    AIAS Loranzè (Italy)
Non-profit organisation specialised in inclusion and support services for persons with disabilities. Responsible for coordination, research and dissemination.

    QUALO (Czech Republic)
Organisation specialised in international mobility and cooperation with VET providers and SMEs. Responsible for quality assurance and training activities.

    A.H. VET School (Türkiye)
Vocational education provider working with students with disabilities. Responsible for dissemination strategy and validation of results.

The partnership reflects the key actors involved in mobility processes and ensures practical relevance of project results.

    BACKGROUND

Students with disabilities are significantly underrepresented in international mobility programmes. Despite the recognised benefits of international learning experiences, VET providers and host organisations often lack the knowledge, procedures and confidence necessary to organise inclusive mobility opportunities.

    Barriers include:

    • limited expertise on disability inclusion in mobility contexts
    • lack of structured procedures supporting preparation and follow-up
    • uncertainty among SMEs about hosting responsibilities
    • insufficient accessible information for students and families
    • absence of specialised professionals able to coordinate inclusive mobility processes

MOV-it addresses these challenges by building cooperation between organisations representing the main actors involved in mobility processes: VET providers, host organisations and inclusion specialists.

The project contributes to European priorities on Inclusion and Diversity and adaptation of VET systems to labour market needs, promoting equal opportunities in international learning experiences.

    AIM OF THE PROJECT

MOV-it aims to improve access to international mobility opportunities for VET students with disabilities by developing practical guidance and strengthening cooperation between organisations involved in mobility processes.

The project has two main objectives:

    1. Develop procedures that support VET providers, SMEs and families in organising inclusive international mobility experiences.
    2. Define the competence profile of the Mobility Advisor, a professional able to facilitate the preparation, implementation and follow-up of mobility experiences for students with disabilities.

Through research, cooperation and co-design activities, the project produces practical tools that reduce uncertainty and increase confidence among organisations willing to implement inclusive mobility programmes.
